Putin aims to control all of Ukraine, and his behavior is becoming increasingly reckless — Trump
Former U.S. President Donald Trump has once again sharply commented on the actions of Russian leader Vladimir Putin, describing his behavior as "completely irrational," and claimed that, on his orders, Russians are ruthlessly killing peaceful Ukrainians. These words are contained in his latest post on the social media platform Truth Social and relate to recent events in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. In his statement, Trump emphasized that he once maintained good relations with Putin, but that the situation has drastically changed in recent times. According to him, the Russian president "has changed," and now his actions are approaching madness. The American politician pointed out that Putin is unjustifiably conducting aggressive attacks on Ukrainian cities, shelling them with rockets and drones without any apparent reason. Trump explicitly stated: “Rockets and drones are deliberately targeting cities in Ukraine, and there is no logical explanation for this. I always believed he aimed to take over the entire Ukraine, not just part of it. Maybe that sounds exaggerated, but if he implements this plan, it could lead to catastrophic consequences for all of Russia.” During this statement, he also reiterated that such plans by Putin could potentially lead to “his own self-destruction.” In addition to criticizing the Russian leader, Trump did not overlook Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, with whom he supposedly had good relations in the past. Now, according to Trump, his rhetoric only complicates the situation in the country and worsens the international environment. “Everything coming out of his mouth makes the situation worse, and I don’t like it. It would be better if it ended,” he said, hinting at the need for more restrained and constructive communication. The background to this sharp statement emerged the day before. Trump told journalists that he was deeply dissatisfied with Putin’s actions and admitted that he still does not understand the true reasons behind his current steps. At the same time, military sources reported that on the night of May 25, Russian forces conducted a large-scale combined attack on Ukrainian regions, using 367 different air strike means. As a result of this attack, 13 Ukrainian regions were affected: over 80 residential buildings were destroyed, 12 Ukrainian citizens died, and another 60 were injured. The international community’s response to this new phase of Russian attacks was swift. EU Ambassador to Ukraine, Katarina Maternova, stated that Russia is smirking in response to international resistance and peace requests, demonstrating deliberate irresponsibility. Meanwhile, Germany’s Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock, called on the West to stay engaged and act decisively to make Moscow feel the true cost of the war it is waging against Ukraine. Overall, the situation in Ukraine remains tense: Russian forces continue to cause damage to regions, and the international community urges unity and decisive action. In a context where Russian forces do not cease their attacks and seek to achieve strategic objectives, such as controlling the entire territory of Ukraine, it is crucial for Ukraine and its allies to maintain integrity and readiness to respond to new challenges. As the world observes and reacts, it is important to understand that further war could have global consequences for Russia as well as for the strategic balance in Europe and the world at large.
