According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the night of May 25 was characterized by a large-scale attack by Russian troops. Throughout the night, the enemy launched an active operation involving unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and cruise missiles, as confirmed by relevant military sources. The military reported that the attack affected multiple regions of Ukraine, emphasizing the importance of vigilant surveillance and countermeasures by Ukraine’s air defense systems. Source: The Ukrainian Air Force emphasizes that the missiles and drones were launched from various points — from the waters of the Caspian and Black Seas, as well as from aerial and maritime platforms, making air defense systems particularly strained. Several explosions were recorded in different regions, including large cities. Closer to midnight, Russian forces increased their activity, launching Kalibr cruise missiles from ships in the Black Sea. An official representative of the Air Force stated that at 01:55, Ukrainian military personnel detected a mass launch of cruise missiles from the decks of strategic bombers Tu-95MS and Tu-160 flying near Ukrainian territory. This indicates a targeted and large-scale nature of Russian strikes aimed at infrastructure and objects within Ukraine. Special attention was paid to the use of unmanned aerial vehicles—kamikaze drones—launched in numbers reaching dozens. These drones, attempting to penetrate the air defense system, pose a significant threat to residential and industrial facilities. According to reports, Ukrainian forces have already destroyed some of these drones, but new UAVs continue to enter the airspace over Kyiv and other populated areas. The night in Kharkiv was particularly dramatic — the city was rocked by a series of powerful explosions that caused fires at the impact sites. Reports confirm one of these strikes caused a fire at an infrastructure facility. In the Holosiiv district of Kyiv, debris from a Russian drone fell on a five-story residential building, causing a large fire and casualties. Serious damages occurred as a result, and local rescue services are working to mitigate the consequences. This again highlights the high level of uncertainty and danger Ukraine faces amid another wave of aggression from Russia. Military and rescue services are already on high alert, as the threat of new strikes remains elevated. Meanwhile, the country is once again fighting for its future, defending its population and infrastructure from massive and sophisticated enemy attacks.
