U
S. ambassador to Ukraine made a loud statement regarding the new escalation of Russian terror, emphasizing that Moscow is brazenly mocking the international community and the Ukrainian people, ignoring all peace efforts. In her post on the official Facebook page, she highlighted that Russia not only continues but also intensifies its aggressive policy. Specifically, she pointed out that on the night of May 25, the enemy launched a powerful combined strike using drones and rockets, marking the second consecutive night of mass attacks. "Russia mockingly laughs at the world and at all attempts by the United States and the international community to promote peace. It demonstrates cynicism and a dismissive attitude toward any diplomatic efforts aimed at ending hostilities," the ambassador stressed. "Peace? What peace? The question becomes even more acute when constant and cynical terror becomes the norm, and attacks are becoming more intense and frequent. Russia relentlessly exerts pressure, increasing chaos and destruction, mocking all international efforts to resolve the conflict." According to Kateryna Maternova, Moscow deliberately ignores any signs of diplomacy. She emphasized that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin uses the war as a tool to achieve his goals — the destruction of Ukrainian independence and the subjugation of Ukraine. "It seems that the only language they understand is the language of force. Unfortunately, today, this is the only way to achieve any results," the diplomat added. The ambassador also agreed with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who wrote in his recent post that while the world may go into the weekend, the aggressor is not stopping. "Now is the time to show strength and unite to resist this aggression together with Ukraine," she said, adding that the international community should not remain passive when it comes to security and humanitarian issues in the country. Amid a new wave of attacks, which has become record-breaking for this war, Ukrainian leaders and international experts are calling for tougher and more consistent action. On the night of May 25 alone, the enemy carried out 367 strikes across Ukrainian territory, with a significant part of them destroyed — over 310 means of countering enemy attacks were either destroyed or location-lost. President Volodymyr Zelensky, in this regard, called on the international community to impose additional sanctions on Russia to stop this wave of destruction. Thus, the situation is becoming increasingly tense. World leaders must demonstrate unity and resolve to force Moscow to cease its aggression and respect international law. As Ukrainian diplomat emphasizes, only through joint efforts can this unprecedented military aggression be stopped and Ukraine restored with peace and security.
