As a result of an airstrike on a residential building, two civilians lost their lives, and several others were injured of varying severity. This is yet another example of the relentless escalation of Russian terror against Ukrainian cities and villages, which has devastating consequences for the local population and destroys dozens of lives. According to Oleg Syniehuikov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, the incident has been confirmed by official sources. He stated that two women aged 85 and 56 have died. Additionally, three more people were wounded: a 60-year-old man, a 75-year-old grandmother, and a 68-year-old woman. Medical personnel are working nonstop to provide necessary assistance to those affected, but the consequences of this shelling are already impossible to ignore. Details of the incident indicate that the attack was carried out using an FAB-500 aerial bomb — a high-precision munition that ruthlessly destroyed the residential building, taking innocent civilians’ lives in their homes. This attack is part of a series of aggressive actions by Russian troops against Ukraine that have continued for several years. It is worth noting that on the night of May 25, the enemy launched a large-scale combined attack on various regions of the country. According to Ukrainian estimates, more than 367 air attack means were used in total, of which over 310 have already been destroyed or rendered inoperative by Ukrainian air defense forces and systems. Through such large-scale assaults, the enemy demonstrates its aggression and unwillingness to pursue diplomatic solutions, aiming to increase psychological pressure and devastation across Ukraine. Particularly affected by this night attack were residents of Zhytomyr region, where three minors lost their lives. Additionally, 12 other Ukrainians were injured of varying severity, further emphasizing the urgent need for continued defensive and humanitarian support from the state. Overall, the situation remains tense and very difficult. Ukrainian security and defense services work around the clock to counter the aggression, while civilians continue to live in a state of uncertainty and fear, as Russian shelling becomes increasingly frequent and destructive. Authorities and the international community should intensify efforts to hasten the end of the conflict and ensure the safety of peaceful residents. This unfolding situation underscores once again the importance of unity among the Ukrainian people in the fight for freedom and the country’s integrity, as well as the necessity of increased international support to counter Russian aggression, which mercilessly destroys lives and infrastructure.
