Russia commits yet another crime against the civilian population in Zhytomyr region: three children have died
On the night of April 27, a devastating and tragic incident occurred as a result of a large-scale attack by Russian military forces on Zhytomyr region. According to official information from the State Emergency Service (SES), three defenseless children—aged 8, 12, and 17—were killed during the enemy shelling. An additional 12 local residents were injured of varying severity, many of whom required immediate hospitalization. According to rescue workers, one of the victims’ bodies was recovered from the rubble, and the other two were extricated through highly professional and deliberate efforts. It is noted that among the injured are people of different ages and health conditions, all of whom have been taken to nearby medical facilities for appropriate treatment. The extent of destruction in the Berdiiv district is staggering: several buildings have been damaged, including a five-story residential complex, private homes, and farm buildings. The infrastructure has been significantly affected by the shelling, leaving many residents homeless and deprived of adequate living conditions. Rescue teams have been working at the scene since the morning, inspecting the destruction, evacuating people, and providing first medical aid to the injured. All emergency services are operating in a heightened mode to swiftly eliminate the consequences of the open enemy offensive and to ensure the safety of the local population. This tragedy once again underscores the cynical and brutal nature of Russian attacks on peaceful civilians, especially children, who are the most vulnerable category of citizens. Ukrainian authorities and security services promise to make every effort to investigate this shameful event and bring those responsible to justice. We cannot remain silent or stop until the aggressor ceases this terrible war. Let us remember that every loss is a tragedy for families and the entire Ukrainian people. We are fighting for every life, for Ukrainian land, and for the future of our state.
