Night Air Attack by Russia on Kyiv Region Claims Lives and Causes Widespread Destruction
During a time when most Ukrainian citizens seemed to be trying to recover from a tense day, the night of May 25 brought a new large-scale strike by Russian forces on the Kyiv region. According to official sources, including the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Mykola Kalyashnyk, three people were killed during this intensive air raid, and another ten sustained injuries of varying severity. Witnesses and local residents report significant damage to residential buildings and infrastructure objects in several districts of the region. According to Mykola Kalyashnyk, the tragedy occurred in four districts of Kyiv region, namely Bucha, Obukhiv, Bilytsserkivka, and Fastiv. The head of the regional military administration stated that the first two victims were found during the firefighting operations in Obukhiv district. Another death occurred in Bucha district, highlighting the scale of destruction and human casualties. The night strikes also affected local residents: preliminary data indicates that at least 10 people have been injured in areas hit directly or affected by damage. Among them is a man born in 1966, who received shrapnel wounds to his face and was provided with necessary medical assistance at the scene. Additionally, in Bilytsserkivka district, five more people, including two young children, were injured. In Fastiv district, two women sustained injuries, and two more individuals were wounded in Bucha district. Officials note that these figures are being updated, and the number of injured may increase. Rescue services report that units of the State Emergency Service, investigative teams, and medical brigades are already working at the sites of the incidents. They are conducting rescue and recovery operations, clearing debris, and preventing further tragedies. Another missile strike once again underscores the difficulties faced by the Ukrainian population during the war, as well as the need to strengthen safety measures. Local authorities call on residents to remain vigilant, avoid dangerous areas, and adhere to evacuation and safety protocols. All services are operating in intensified mode to respond as quickly as possible to potential new threats and to ensure the safety of citizens. This nocturnal shelling highlights once again the high cost of peaceful life in the region and reminds us of the importance of Ukrainian society’s unity and consolidation in the fight against the aggressor.
