Massive Drone Attack on Kyiv: Dozens of Enemy UAVs Appear in the Sky Over the Capital
On the night of May 24 to 25, Ukraine’s capital once again became the target of a large-scale aerial assault by Russian forces. According to reports from Ukrainian military officials and authorities, a significant number of enemy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were detected in the skies over Kyiv. These UAVs broke through the air defense system and continue to pose a serious threat to the city and its residents. According to data from the Kyiv City Military Administration, the situation remains tense. Despite efforts by air defense forces to destroy some of the enemy drones, dozens of UAVs launched from the aggressor country continue to enter the city’s airspace. Military personnel report active combat against small groups of drones, which attack around the clock in an effort to strike strategic facilities and city infrastructure. Kyiv Military Administration spokesperson Timur Tkachенко emphasizes: “More than a dozen enemy drones are already in the air around the capital. There are reports of new approaching groups, and the situation is tense. There is a real threat of mass drone attacks or missile strikes from strategic aircraft.” According to Tkachенко, the threat from the enemy remains high, and Ukrainian air defense forces are making maximum efforts to intercept and destroy hostile targets. At the same time, defenders warn that drone and missile launches could continue at any moment, causing additional anxiety among Kyiv residents and those in its districts. Overall, the night attack serves as another reminder of the challenging situation around Ukraine’s capital, which has lost its internal stability amid a prolonged war. Local authorities urge residents to stay calm, follow official information updates, and adhere to safety guidelines. According to current reports, combat units are actively engaged in repelling new attacks and ensuring the safety of Kyiv’s inhabitants. Meanwhile, the situation remains dynamic—enemy forces clearly intend to intensify their military activities and continue their persistent activity toward the capital.
