During the deep winter night of May 25, Russian forces once again breached the peace along Ukraine’s northern borders, launching a large-scale series of attacks in Sumy region

Local residents reported that the dawn was marked by explosions, and drones- kamikaze and rockets again took to the sky, causing destruction and alarm. This has become a regular occurrence for the region, which still remains under constant threat from Russian aggressors. According to the Sumy Regional Military Administration, the primary targets included industrial facilities, particularly food production enterprises. It is reported that overnight, the Russians struck one such facility in the city of Sumy twice — using attack drones (UAVs). Preliminary information indicates that these attacks are already the second assault on this site: the first occurred in April of this year and was deliberately aimed at undermining the region's economic stability. Thanks to the prompt reaction of workers who timely took shelter, casualties among civilians were avoided this time. The situation was no less tense in Konotop, where Russian troops carried out a massive strike using missiles and attack UAVs. According to initial reports, casualties and injuries were avoided, but infrastructure objects in the city were damaged. Konotop Mayor Artem Semienihin confirmed that, as a result of the nighttime shelling, one of the local industrial and residential neighborhoods was destroyed. "Vital infrastructure has been disrupted, public facilities damaged. Even the trees on the territory have been destroyed due to the strikes," he commented. Eyewitnesses and officials emphasize that the destroyed industrial facilities, which provide jobs and food for the region, are currently under attack from Russian forces. This is not the first instance of Sumy region's infrastructure suffering destruction, highlighting the ongoing danger and the need to strengthen defense and security measures. Overall, the situation along Ukraine's northern borders remains tense. Official reports confirm that Russian military forces continue targeted attacks against the region's industrial and vital infrastructure, creating significant anxiety among residents and troops. Authorities urge the population to be cautious, follow safety rules, and closely monitor official information to avoid casualties and injuries. Currently, law enforcement and emergency services are working to assess the extent of the damage and stabilize the situation. It is expected that the government and local authorities will take all necessary measures to restore the damaged infrastructure and ensure citizen safety. However, as the enemy continues its targeted strikes, residents of Sumy region remain resilient, hopeful for a quick victory and the return of peace to the area.
