At the beginning of the week, significant atmospheric fluctuations are expected in Ukraine: meteorologists warn about short-term rains and thunderstorm phenomena, particularly noticeable in the northern, western, and central regions of the country, as well as in Odesa and Mykolaiv oblasts

These weather events will serve as yet another indication of the variable spring weather, which will bring not only coolness and showers but also a touch of unpredictability to the daily life of Ukrainians. According to the Ukrhydrometcenter, which monitors the situation with the involvement of the Interfax-Ukraine agency, on Monday, May 26, short-term precipitation will primarily affect the northern and western regions of the country. For example, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, and Odesa regions will be under the influence of heavy rains that may turn into significant showers and thunderstorms. In other parts of the country, including central and southern regions, anticyclones will contribute to the absence of precipitation, allowing residents to enjoy more stable weather. Regarding the wind, its main direction will be southeast with a speed of 7–12 m/s, and during the daytime, gusts up to 15–20 m/s are possible, especially in the Left Bank regions. This phenomenon will significantly impact street traffic and energy supply, as well as create conditions for rapid temperature fluctuations in cities and villages. The temperature regime on Monday will be unexpectedly varied: in the western, Zhytomyr, and Vinnytsia regions, nighttime temperatures are expected to range from 4 to 9 degrees Celsius, while daytime temperatures will range from 12 to 17 degrees. Meanwhile, in central and southern regions of the country, nighttime temperatures will rise to 12–17 degrees, and daytime temperatures will reach 19–24 degrees, with some areas possibly experiencing up to 30 degrees in eastern and southeastern regions. This may indicate rapid snow cover melting and warming air temperatures, which could affect agricultural activities. In the capital, the weather will remain variably cloudy: Kyiv forecasts short-term rain showers on May 26, with southeast winds reaching 7–12 m/s. At night, temperatures will stay around 15 degrees, while daytime temperatures will fluctuate around 19–21 degrees Celsius. This will create some discomfort for city residents, especially for those planning outdoor activities. Tuesday, May 27, will bring more weather surprises across Ukrainian regions. Meteorologists report that precipitation will intensify and begin spreading to the Right Bank and Crimea. Expect heavy rains and thunderstorms during the night in Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Cherkasy, and Odesa regions. During the day, precipitation will impact Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, and Chernivtsi regions, while the rest of the territory may experience light rain. Regarding temperature, in western, Zhytomyr, and Vinnytsia regions, nighttime temperatures will warm to 6–11 degrees, with daytime temperatures from 14 to 19 degrees. In eastern and southeastern regions, meteorologists forecast higher temperatures: 12–17 degrees at night and from 18 to 28 degrees during the day, indicating rapid warming and increased fieldwork activity. For Kyiv residents, the day will also bring rain and increasing wind speeds up to 7–12 m/s. Daytime temperatures will be quite comfortable, around 20–22 degrees. Overall, the first days of the week in Ukraine will be filled with a variety of weather phenomena, which will influence daily life, agricultural work, and demand appropriate preparedness and attention from residents. Experts generally emphasize that such changes in atmospheric conditions are typical for late spring and early summer. However, it is important to monitor forecasts and be prepared for possible inconveniences—from city traffic jams caused by rain to complications in transportation and energy systems. Therefore, it is recommended to close windows, take umbrellas outside, and avoid planning outdoor events during thunderstorms.
