A Russian drone carried out a missile strike on a five-story residential building in the city center, resulting in widespread destruction and human tragedy. According to the latest reports, the number of victims has risen to two: from the debris of the second floor, the body of a woman was recovered, though her name and identity are still being determined. This tragic incident is yet another testament to the brutality and mercilessness of Russia's aggression against the peaceful residents of Mykolaiv, which has been suffering under the heavy weight of war for years. This was reported on the scene by Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevič in his recent Telegram statement. In his comments, he noted: "Rescue workers have extricated the body of a woman from the rubble. This is already the second victim of the nighttime attack." According to the mayor, the situation remains tense: rescue operations to eliminate the consequences of the criminal attack are ongoing, and emergency services continue their search-and-rescue efforts. As of 8 p.m., large-scale operations to extract casualties and clear the debris are still underway in the city. They are dismantling damaged concrete structures to quickly find any survivors and provide them with assistance. In addition to human losses, the building suffered significant damage — two floors were completely destroyed, and three others sustained serious dents and cracks. The residents who remain alive now have to endure grief and uncertainty, fearing for their safety and future. This tragedy occurred on the night of May 25. According to sources, Russian military forces again deployed attack drones, which have become a horrifying constant for the Mykolaiv community. As a result of this incident, a 42-year-old man was killed, and five other residents, including a minor boy, were injured. The remaining inhabitants are forced to live with the anticipation of further strikes and destruction, which have long become a regular nightmare for the city.
