As a result of another missile or artillery strike in Kherson region, a tragic event occurred that once again confirms the price paid by peaceful residents for war

According to the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, on Friday, May 23, a deadly tragedy took place in the village of Kizomis, located in the southern part of the region — a 73-year-old resident of this settlement was killed as a result of a missile strike or artillery attack. According to an official spokesperson, Russian forces opened fire on the village of Kizomis on Friday morning. The consequences of these actions were the death of an elderly woman, who sustained severe injuries incompatible with life. Details of the event are currently being clarified, but it is already known that the village resident — a pensioner who lived in a large family — was probably at home during the attack when an enemy shell or bullets hit her house. This tragedy is one of many incidents in the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine, particularly in the Donetsk and Kherson regions, which remain some of the hottest spots of the conflict. According to the Ukrainian Operational Command, only on May 23, six Ukrainian citizens were killed in these regions, and another 21 were wounded of varying severity. This indicates that the daily war takes human lives and leaves destruction behind, breaking the destinies of peaceful residents whom war forces to suffer and often takes away their closest loved ones from their lives. Shelling in Kherson region remains one of the most brutal aspects of the conflict, as this area suffers from numerous missile strikes and shelling by the Russian army, targeting both infrastructure and civilians. The number of civilian casualties is increasing daily, and the safety and lives of people are under threat. The official authorities call on Ukrainians to exercise caution, follow safety rules, and hide in shelters during air raid alerts, as danger is always close. This tragedy once again underscores the need to understand the scale of human losses in the war and calls on the global community to intensify efforts to provide assistance to Ukraine and promote an end to the conflict. Having access to current data, acting swiftly, and showing sacrifice are the keys to our collective resilience in the face of relentless war, which, unfortunately, continues to claim innocent lives.
