A tragedy has occurred in Kharkiv region that has shaken the local community: as a result of a terrible car crash, a woman and a small child lost their lives, and the perpetrator of the accident, according to initial reports, committed suicide
The regional police press service provides more details about this tragic event. The incident took place on May 25 around 14:40 on the Kharkiv – Okhtyrka highway, near the village of Krupchine in Bohodukhiv district. According to law enforcement officials, the accident happened due to a mistake by the driver of a Hyundai Tucson, who, during an overtaking maneuver, veered into oncoming traffic and lost control of the vehicle. This led to a collision with a Fiat Tipo traveling in the same direction, and subsequently with a Renault Magnum truck with a semi-trailer, which was moving in the opposite lane. As a result of the crash, two Hyundai passengers died at the scene: a 45-year-old woman and a three-year-old child. They sustained the most severe injuries, which proved fatal. During this time, overwhelmed by the emotional trauma caused by what he saw, another driver, a 52-year-old man who was nearby at the time of the accident, committed suicide by taking his own life. The police also note that other road users involved in this tragedy experienced severe psychological shock. Currently, law enforcement authorities are investigating all circumstances of the accident, and the question of opening a criminal case under the article concerning violation of traffic safety rules resulting in multiple deaths is being considered. Meanwhile, the local community is in deep mourning for the victims, and specialists are urging drivers to be extra cautious and responsible on the road to prevent similar tragedies in the future. The police call on drivers to exercise heightened vigilance and adhere strictly to traffic rules, as the consequences of such accidents can be exceedingly tragic and leave a painful scar for the families of the victims and the entire region.
