The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in his daily effort to recognize the courage and dedication of the nation’s defenders, has signed a new decree awarding seven more military heroes
According to official documents published on the presidential website, all of them have been bestowed the highest state honor — "Hero of Ukraine" — accompanied by the Order of the "Golden Star." This high distinction collectively emphasizes the importance of every human life and the bravery demonstrated by the defenders during a critical moment for the country. It is particularly impressive that six out of the seven awards are posthumous. This means that these soldiers sacrificed the most valuable — their lives — in defending Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity from the aggressor. The decrees awarding these titles are dated May 23, indicating that they were issued promptly and reflect the deep respect and gratitude of the state for their heroic actions. Among those honored is Senior Sergeant Andriy Orlivskyi, who was awarded for personal heroism and loyalty to the oath. The list also includes posthumously Lieutenant Oleksandr Chukhni and Anton Spitsin, who died fighting for Ukraine’s independence; as well as Soldier Pavlo Lysitsa, Junior Lieutenant Nazar Kravchuk, Anatoliy Lypchya, and Maksym Vepryk. Through the profound symbolism and sharp immediacy of these events, each name listed in the decree tells a story of courage, patriotism, and unwavering devotion to Ukraine. These awards serve as a controlled and symbolic gesture of support for military personnel and the entire Ukrainian community. They reinforce the message that the country values and remembers every individual who fights and often sacrifices the most for the future of our state. Each of the laureates is a role model and a symbol of the unbreakable Ukrainian spirit in the most challenging times.
