On Sunday, May 25th, an adverse weather forecast is expected in Ukraine: most of the country will experience an increased likelihood of rain, thunderstorms, and hail, with some regions possibly facing strong gusts

Meteorologists from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center warn about deteriorating road conditions, disruptions in energy and construction sectors, as well as challenges for utilities and municipal services. According to weather forecasters, the most unfavorable scenario will unfold in the northern and central regions, including Kyiv. During the day, short-term rains with thunderstorms will occur there. Some areas may also experience hail and gusts reaching 15-20 meters per second. Similar conditions are forecasted for the southern regions, specifically in Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Chernivtsi regions. There, a significant amount of precipitation is also expected, which could hinder traffic and lead to unpredictable situations on the streets. No significant rainfall is expected across the rest of the country. However, meteorologists warn of strong winds, primarily blowing from the southeast at speeds of 7-12 meters per second. In the Left Bank regions, gusts reaching 15-20 m/s may occur during the day. Regarding temperature, most regions will experience comfortable conditions. At night, temperatures will rise to between 4-9°C in the western areas and 12-17°C elsewhere. Daytime temperatures will range from 11 to 16°C in western regions, while in other areas, warmer weather is expected — from 17 to 22°C, with peaks reaching 23-28°C in the southeastern regions. Kyiv and Kyiv Region are also subject to unusual weather fluctuations. During the day, brief showers with thunderstorms will occur, with some areas potentially experiencing hail and strong winds up to 15-20 m/s. Winds in the capital and surrounding areas will predominantly come from the southeast at 7-12 m/s. The temperature in the city will fluctuate between 14-16°C at night and 18-20°C during the day, which is comfortable for this time of year. Considering the warnings issued by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, residents are urged to exercise particular caution and respond promptly to weather changes, especially when planning trips or outdoor activities. Adverse weather conditions could negatively impact energy and construction work, as well as create risks for public transportation and motorists. Overall, Ukrainians should be prepared for unexpected rainfall, squalls, and possible hail, which can disrupt everyday routines on this challenging May day.
