Estonia’s intelligence reports an increasing pressure from Russian occupying forces on all frontlines, while Ukrainian defenders demonstrate a high capacity to successfully repel the enemy’s offensive actions
According to data from the Defense Forces Intelligence Center of the Republic of Estonia, the situation at the front remains tense, but control over the situation is maintained and is under close analysis by military experts. This information is published by "European Pravda" citing ERR. According to the latest reports, the hottest situation is in Donetsk region, where Russian troops continue to exert pressure on the strategically important city of Kostiantynivka. The occupiers are actively advancing towards Toretsk and Chasiv Yar, aiming to consolidate their positions. Data indicates that over the past week, the Russian army has advanced in the area between Pokrovsk and Toretsk, capturing several key strategic sections. Specifically, they have taken a significant part of the highway connecting Pokrovsk with Chasiv Yar. At the same time, experts emphasize that a full-scale capture of Kostiantynivka is currently unlikely, as Ukrainian defenders are demonstrating high resilience and are intentionally holding their positions. The strategic situation in Donbas remains tense, but according to Estonian specialists, no changes have taken place in this hybrid war-controlled zone for several months. This confirms the stability of hostilities and the ability of Ukrainian forces to effectively resist Russian advances. Meanwhile, a high level of attack intensity from Russia has been recorded in the areas of Pokrovsk and in directions towards Novopavlivka, where about half of all missile and artillery strikes per day occur. Although these actions create additional pressure, they do not lead to significant breakthroughs or changes in the strategic situation. Ukrainian defenders demonstrate high skill in resisting the enemy, which allows them to hold key positions and prevent the expansion of occupation. According to military experts, despite numerous shellings and tactical advances of Russian troops in certain areas, Ukrainian forces successfully fulfill their defensive tasks, maintaining control over critically important points. Overall, the situation at the front remains stable since the beginning of the year, confirmed by both Ukrainian military analysts and international observers. Experts say that Russian troops continue to aim at achieving their main goal—to reach the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk regions—to strengthen their positions ahead of potential negotiations. However, no signs of intentions to establish a ceasefire are observed in Moscow: all indications suggest that hostilities will continue at their current level of intensity. British intelligence recently noted that over the past month, Russian forces have achieved some tactical successes in certain parts of the front, notably near Kostiantynivka. Their gradual advance indicates ongoing high combat activity on the part of Russia. Additionally, analysts warn that in 2025, the war could lead to record losses for the Russian army, and these prospects are prompting Moscow to intensify tactical efforts, though without significant changes in the strategic situation in the short term. Overall, amid sustained tension at the front, Ukrainian military forces demonstrate the ability to hold defensive lines and prevent large-scale breakthroughs, while the international community closely monitors developments, seeking opportunities for diplomatic resolution of the conflict.
