As a result of this assault, several civilians were killed and injured, once again confirming the tragic toll that civilians have to pay in this ongoing war, which has now lasted over a year. According to information provided by the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, on Monday morning around 07:30, Russian troops opened fire with artillery on the city of Kostiantynivka. A direct hit from an artillery shell destroyed a residential building, resulting in the death of a 54-year-old local resident. Her daughter, 27 years younger, suffered severe injuries — including a mine-explosive trauma, an open cranial trauma, and wounds to the head, neck, and legs. This is yet another example of how destructive the consequences of frantic shelling are for civilians who find themselves in the crosshairs of occupying forces. Another tragic event was an attack by a Kamikaze drone of the "Lancer" type in the Rayhorodok district, in Kramatorsk. At 10:35, near a local shop, the enemy dropped a combat drone, attempting to destroy a high-value target with precision. Fortunately, the attack resulted in horrific consequences for local residents — a 51-year-old woman working at a kiosk was killed. Meanwhile, a 39-year-old woman selling at a nearby marketplace sustained shrapnel wounds and a mine-explosive injury; she was hospitalized in moderate condition. These events once again highlight the systematic and cynical nature of the war crimes committed by Russia against civilians in Donetsk region. Law enforcement agencies have already begun documenting these incidents as evidence of the ruthless actions of the occupiers, who grossly violate international conventions and humanitarian law. Prosecutors and other law enforcement officers are working to record all the consequences of these shellings — so that in the future, these crimes receive a proper assessment and those responsible are held accountable. Overall, the situation in the region remains tense and causes deep concern among local residents. Peaceful civilians are repeatedly targeted, and their homes are destroyed, undermining their safety and inflicting psychological trauma on each of them. These events will serve as another reminder to the international community of the need to increase pressure on Russia, demand a ceasefire, and ensure adequate protection for the entire population of Donetsk region and Ukraine as a whole.
