On Saturday, Ukraine will be under the influence of unstable weather conditions, accompanied by short-term showers, thunderstorms, and gusts of wind, which will create additional difficulties for residents and visitors of the country
These forecasts are provided by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, citing data from "Interfax-Ukraine," and predict a rapid weather change in the coming days. According to preliminary meteorological data, on May 23, short-term bad weather is expected throughout Ukraine. In the western regions, as well as in Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, and Odesa provinces, local showers, thunderstorms, and even hail and squalls reaching speeds of 15–20 meters per second are forecasted. These areas may experience complications due to strong gusts of wind, especially during windy periods. Elsewhere in the country, no precipitation is anticipated, but the weather will be highly variable: winds will mainly be south-eastern, but in the western regions, they will shift to north-western and strengthen to 7–12 m/s. Regarding temperatures, nighttime temperatures will rise to 9–14°C, while daytime temperatures will fluctuate between 20–25°C, potentially reaching up to 28°C in the southeast of the country. In the western regions, the temperatures will be more moderate, ranging from 13–18°C. In Kyiv, although no precipitation is expected, nighttime temperatures will rise to 12–14°C, and during the day to 23–25°C. This will create comfortable conditions for residents, but it is advisable to be prepared for possible significant weather fluctuations. On May 24, the situation will worsen: short-term showers will occur overnight in the western regions, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, and sometimes in Kyiv and Odesa. During the day, precipitation will spread across almost the entire country, except for the southeast and east, where the weather will remain mostly dry. In central and northern regions, thunderstorms are likely, which could cause unrest among the population and create additional obstacles for transportation and street activities. The wind on this day will remain southeasterly, shifting back to north-western in the western regions, with speeds of 7–12 m/s. Temperature patterns during this period will vary depending on the region. In the west, Zhytomyr, and Vinnytsia, nighttime temperatures are expected to be 5–10°C, and daytime temperatures 10–15°C, making the weather cooler and more comfortable than in previous days. Across the rest of the country, nighttime temperatures will range from 12–17°C, and daytime temperatures will rise to 22–27°C. This means Ukrainians will again experience a contrast in weather conditions: cold mornings and warm, sunny days. As for the capital, Kyiv, short-term showers are also forecasted for May 24. Night temperatures will rise to 14–16°C, and daytime temperatures to 23–25°C. Thunderstorms may occur in some areas, which could complicate planned activities and travel. Residents are advised to prepare in advance for possible weather disturbances and to gather necessary clothing for any unexpected changes. Such short-term but intense manifestations of atmospheric instability cause not only discomfort and potential troubles but also remind us of the need to stay alert and monitor updated forecasts. The weather during these days will pose a serious challenge for transportation services, farms, agricultural workers, and residents. Therefore, it is recommended to follow safety rules, avoid risky actions during thunderstorms and hurricanes, and plan activities considering potential frost and precipitation.
