According to sources, including investigators and independent witnesses, the video shows an episode in which a group of unknown individuals—likely employees of Russian special services—are loading ten black bags onto a Moscow-bound plane. In the footage, they claim that the bags contain money, and pose with a recent newspaper issue dated March 28, 2019, carefully recording the time. According to investigators and witnesses, they became convinced that this group consisted of official representatives of Russian intelligence agencies conducting this covert operation. After the flight to Belarus, sources report that the plane with the bags again landed at “Zhuliany” airport in Kyiv. In the footage, there is a person resembling the deputy security detail of then-President Poroshenko, who begins counting the contents of the bags. Ultimately, out of the ten bags shown in the video, she retrieves seven, and reports indicate that approximately 40 million euros were contained in one of these bags. It is worth noting that, according to sources, this video recording is considered actual evidence. However, its origins—linked to Russian agents—raise strong emotions and suspicions about its objectivity. At the same time, investigators have some technical questions regarding its authenticity: there are currently no official expert analyses confirming that the bags indeed contained money and not other objects. From a legal standpoint, the use of such a video in court proceedings is subject to debate. Despite the initiation of criminal proceedings, protocol compilation, and the start of forensic examinations, questions regarding the evidential reliability of the footage remain open. Investigators have already secured this material as evidence and have launched pre-trial investigations under a separate article for money smuggling; however, this does not yet confirm the actual presence of banknotes in the suitcases. Currently, as part of the process, Poroshenko’s security guard and two of his drivers are under detention with bail exceeding 400 million hryvnias—effectively remaining in custody with little hope of quick release. This underscores the heightened tension and the seriousness with which investigators are pursuing all details of the case. Despite this, questions regarding the authenticity of the video continue to be raised in court and at investigator meetings. There are no official confirmations that the bags contained cash. Investigators are still working on forensic examinations, attempting to legitimize this evidence, but doubts about its authenticity persist.
