On the night of May 18, Kyiv region was once again subjected to an air attack by Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)
During this night, several hostile drones were recorded flying through the region's airspace, prompting the activation of appropriate measures to neutralize them. Military and air defense forces responded instantly — operating in a heightened alert mode to destroy the drones and prevent potential damage or destruction. According to the latest data received from the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, the armed forces continue to combat enemy drones by using modern air defense systems to intercept targets approaching vital infrastructure facilities. The source reported: "Unmanned aerial vehicles were detected in the airspace. Air defense forces are targeting the objectives." This confirms that the situation remains tense, and Ukraine is prepared to repel any attempts of interference by the aggressor. It should be noted that, given the prolonged Russian aggression, Kyiv region has already become one of the primary targets for enemy drones. These drones are used both for reconnaissance and sabotage missions aimed at destabilizing the situation and damaging critical infrastructure. Ukrainian defenders regularly destroy these targets, demonstrating a high level of combat readiness and the effectiveness of air defense systems. Commenting on the situation, military officials emphasize that the air defense is operating normally, and the attacker’s attempts to penetrate Ukrainian airspace are unlikely to succeed. However, they urge the population to stay vigilant and follow safety rules, as nocturnal attack activity from Russian UAVs could indicate attempts for further strikes at any time. Currently, the situation is under control, and Ukrainian forces are fully prepared to respond. At the same time, the Defense Assistance Association expresses its support for the country's defenders and calls on all citizens to remain alert, especially during times of unrest. Military experts note that such attacks indicate ongoing efforts by Russia to destabilize the situation in eastern and northeastern Ukraine, highlighting the need to strengthen air defense and support the Armed Forces in their fight against the enemy.
