Specifically, according to official sources, Russian military forces carried out an attack by dropping explosives from a drone directly onto a private house of an elderly man. As a result of this horrific event, the man sustained fatal injuries and died instantly at the scene, with no chance of rescue. According to Oleksandr Prokuidin, the head of the Kharkiv Military Administration, official data confirm this tragic news. “In Vesela, Russian occupiers murdered a local resident. They dropped explosives from a drone onto a 76-year-old man. He died at the scene from his injuries,” he stated in his comment. This once again confirms that Russian forces are employing increasingly destructive and dangerous methods of warfare, including using drones for targeted attacks against civilians. Meanwhile, on Sunday morning, May 18, the situation in southern Ukraine worsened even further when Russian troops used aerial strike assets against Kupiansk, located in Kharkiv region. According to local and official sources, Russian aircraft dropped a bomb on the populated area, causing destruction and triggering a new wave of fear and anxiety among residents. As a result of this attack, several people were injured: two women and one man received injuries of varying severity. Medical teams promptly arrived at the scene to provide first aid, but the fate of the victims remains uncertain due to the severity of their injuries. This attack once again highlights the chasm between the peaceful life of Ukrainians and Russia’s military aggression, which does not spare adults or the elderly, even targeting innocent residents with weapons. This day has become one of those that once again remind us of the scale of destruction and human tragedies caused by Russian aggression. It is important to emphasize that Ukrainian defenders are trying to oppose this malicious campaign, but the enemy continues to pursue its destructive policies, employing modern and more dangerous means of warfare.
