In Kharkiv, the head of the Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support (RTCK and SS) has been temporarily suspended from performing his duties due to an investigation into a tragic incident that resulted in the death of a local resident

The decision to relieve the leader and his deputy was officially made on May 12, following the occurrence of the tragedy at the military center’s premises. At the same time, the command emphasizes that this measure was taken solely to ensure an objective and impartial investigation of the circumstances that led to the fatality. According to official information published by the Operational Command "East," a tragic incident occurred at the RTCK and SS in Kharkiv: a 39-year-old citizen died after falling from the third floor of the administrative building. Based on law enforcement and expert conclusions, the cause was determined to be suicide. In a comment, it was noted that the investigative and forensic teams, during their work, did not find any signs of violent death or unlawful interference. It was established that the man jumped out of the window without leaving any traces of a criminal act. A criminal case is underway under the article prescribing responsibility for suicide (Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). However, law enforcement officers emphasize that all investigative materials have been handed over to the State Bureau of Investigation for a thorough review of the actions of the military center’s staff and relevant services. Currently, the command assures that all necessary measures to clarify the circumstances of the incident are being fully implemented. At the same time, as a result of investigative and judicial proceedings, personnel decisions regarding the officials involved, including potential disciplinary actions, are not out of question. According to representatives of the military command, if the guilt of regional military center officials is established, they will be severely disciplined in accordance with the law. This also applies to the possible declaration of suspicion, after which all involved officials will be suspended from their duties. It is noteworthy that the situation has caused significant resonance in Kharkiv. According to police, on the day of the tragedy—May 12—the man attempted to commit suicide by jumping out of the third-floor window of the RTCK and SS administrative building. The Kharkiv Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support assured that no illegal actions were committed by servicemen or center employees in relation to the citizen during the incident. It is also known that, in response to the incident, the military center’s management promised to facilitate a comprehensive and objective investigation, ensure transparency in the process, and uphold the citizen’s rights. At the same time, law enforcement agencies are actively working to establish all circumstances of the tragedy, and any facts of possible misconduct or administrative negligence will be thoroughly investigated and will not be left unaddressed. Overall, this tragedy serves as yet another reminder of the need to strengthen oversight and accountability in military structures and services, as well as the importance of respecting human rights regardless of ownership forms or activities. Addressing issues related to psychological support and ensuring compliance with the legal framework remains a key aspect of the investigation into this high-profile incident.
