At the first rays of morning light on Sunday, Kupiansk once again became the target of aggression by Russian military forces

Around 9:30 a.m., it was specifically the Russian aviation forces that carried out attacks on the residential neighborhoods of the city, located in Kharkiv Oblast. According to preliminary reports, the strike was aimed precisely at the private sector of the city, and the consequences were devastating for residents caught under attack. According to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, three civilians were affected by the air raid. Specifically, a 55-year-old man sustained serious blast injuries that required urgent medical assistance. Two women, aged 75 and 55, who survived the attack, experienced severe shock and needed immediate psychological help. In addition to human casualties and injuries, the attack caused significant damage to private homes, outbuildings, and private infrastructure. Sources report that the attack was carried out using a FAB-500 aerial bomb equipped with a guidance and correction module (UМПК), which allows for more precise targeting. This type of munition belongs to the category of guided aerial bombs, capable of significantly complicating defenses and hitting targets from high altitudes. An investigation into the incident has already been initiated under the article on a war crime — part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Under the law, committing such a crime entails serious legal consequences and requires an objective investigation of all circumstances. This is not the first case of aggression by the Russian Federation in the region. Just the day before, on the night of Sunday, Ukrainian defenders shot down a record number of drones: 273 unmanned aircraft launched from Russia towards Ukraine, but more than a third of them were successfully intercepted and neutralized. Such massive attacks indicate growing tension and pose increased challenges for Ukraine’s air defense system, which actively works to protect its citizens and territory from relentless enemy aggression. The situation remains difficult and tense, and each new incident of shelling and missile strikes underscores the urgent need to end the war as quickly as possible and restore peace to Ukrainian lands.
