Within a single day, Ukrainian defenders have once again dealt a significant blow to the Russian army, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
According to official information, over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed more than 910 invaders and also damaged or destroyed over 140 units of the enemy's military equipment and armaments. These losses testify to the powerful and targeted defensive operation carried out by Ukrainian forces, who tirelessly oppose Russian aggression. Official sources indicate that during almost three years of full-scale war, Russian troops have suffered substantial losses in personnel and matériel. Since February 24, 2022, up to May 17, 2025, Russian military casualties are estimated at approximately 972,600 individuals. According to recent daily figures, an additional 910 soldiers have gone missing from the battlefield. At the same time, Russia has experienced significant losses in technical assets over this period: more than 10,831 tanks, 22,553 combat armored vehicles, 27,942 artillery systems, 1,386 missile launchers, and approximately 36,278 UAVs of operational-tactical level have been destroyed or rendered inoperable. Furthermore, the losses also include 48,809 units of automotive equipment and fuel tanks, indicating the extensive mobilization of the aggressor’s forces and resources for active combat on all fronts. It should be noted that these figures are approximate and subject to clarification. The official representative of the General Staff emphasizes that Ukrainian defenders are making every effort to preserve the lives of their servicemen and maintain the integrity of defensive positions. The circumstances and consequences of hostilities are continually being clarified, but it is evident that the war continues, and Ukraine remains confidently on the defensive, not giving the occupiers any chances of a quick victory.
