On Saturday, May 20, a sad announcement was received by medical facilities in the area — a woman, who had sustained severe injuries the day before during the Ukraine-Russia war, passed away. This marked the latest tragic detail in the long-lasting brutal conflicts that have caused widespread destruction and human suffering. According to official information from Odesa Regional Military Administration Head Oleg Kiper, published on his Telegram channel, the tragedy occurred as a result of an attack by Russian forces on the night of May 16. "Unfortunately, the woman who was affected yesterday night as a result of the Russian attack has died in the hospital," Oleg Kiper reported, emphasizing that her death was the outcome of serious injuries sustained during another enemy shelling. The background of this tragic event unfolded amid tense circumstances. In the morning of May 16, the head of Odesa OVA announced that the previous night the region was subjected to a new attack involving drones by Russian military forces. According to him, several districts of the region registered drone activity, which caused not only infrastructure destruction but also large-scale fires. Official data indicate that during that attack, three people were wounded, including a woman in serious condition. It was also reported at that time that the drone incursions affected residential neighborhoods and civilian infrastructure, triggering panic and destruction. Military and rescue services actively responded to the bombardments, trying to stabilize the situation and assist the victims. Sadly, among the injured was a woman who remained in critical condition in the hospital, but despite medical efforts, her life could not be saved. This tragedy once again confirms that the war in southern Ukraine continues, and its victims continue paying the highest price.
