The information was disclosed by the official spokesperson of the MFA, Georgiy Tkyh, who noted that Ukrainian diplomats have again encountered "things we consider unacceptable." At the same time, he refused to provide specifics about the content of these demands, emphasizing the high professionalism of the Ukrainian delegation in conducting negotiations with the Russian Federation. According to Tkyh, Ukrainian representatives have over ten years of experience in actively participating in negotiations with the Russian side — starting from 2014, when the conflict was just beginning to unfold, and continuing through the current dialogues. "We are well aware of all the nuances and difficulties that arise during such negotiations, and our experience helps us respond correctly to any statements and demands from the other side," he stressed. The MFA spokesperson also mentioned that the Ukrainian delegation "performed excellently" in conducting the negotiations and maintained its position unchanged, despite the challenges and unacceptable proposals from Russia. During recent rounds in Istanbul, Ukrainian diplomats demonstrated firm commitment to their strategic stance and the protection of national interests. Preliminary reports from diplomatic circles indicated that Moscow put forward wildly unrealistic demands and "beyond any previously discussed schemes." Among the key demands was the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from all occupied territories to supposedly enable a ceasefire. This caused outrage both in Ukraine and among the international community. The reaction to the negotiations from Western governments has already been expressed by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who called Russia's demands "unacceptable and unrealistic." According to him, Moscow demonstrates a lack of willingness to make concessions and deliberately complicates reaching agreements. He emphasized that Russia's actions are inconsistent with diplomatic efforts and the need to find a peaceful resolution to the conflict. Overall, the situation surrounding the negotiation process remains tense. Ukraine insists on its position and continues to hold the defense, while the Russian side stubbornly presents conditions that hinder any progress in talks. The international community hopes that future exchanges of ideas will become more constructive and will promote the search for a just and lasting peace on Ukrainian soil.
