During his visit to the United Arab Emirates, the former U.S. president did not hide his confidence that world events would develop toward peace and security within a fairly short period — two to three weeks. Strengthening his position, Trump emphasized the possibility of positive changes in the global situation, primarily concerning Ukraine and the conflict surrounding it. Commenting on the future, he stated: “I can say that the world is already much safer, and I am convinced that in two to three weeks, it will become even calmer and less tense.” These words reflect his optimism regarding the direction of diplomatic processes in the coming weeks. According to him, the situation could improve significantly precisely because there is now an opportunity for direct negotiations. Trump reiterated his previous view that Vladimir Putin would not have come to Turkey for talks if he were not prepared to make compromises and open to dialogue involving the United States. “I understand this well,” assured the former president to colleagues and the global community. However, it is important to emphasize that Trump is not only expressing assumptions but also his hope for a personal meeting with the Kremlin leader. According to him, “we must do this,” hinting at the possibility of starting a negotiation process precisely through his participation. He expressed hope that he would soon be able to meet with Putin and help facilitate peace. Earlier, on Thursday, Trump had already emphasized that the internal conflict surrounding Ukraine cannot be resolved without his involvement — particularly, without his personal dialogue with Vladimir Putin. This underscores his belief in his influence on the development of events and contributes to forming an image in the global information space of his potential role in finding pathways toward peace. Additionally, the opinion of the American politician was supported by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who expressed skepticism about the outcomes of future Ukrainian-Russian negotiations in Istanbul. An administration advisor highlighted the necessity of direct contacts but simultaneously noted that the prospects for achieving a quick and stable peace remain uncertain. Overall, Trump’s words create an image of an optimistic outlook and emphasize his conviction that diplomacy and personal negotiations can change the situation beyond recognition in a very short period. Time will tell whether these predictions and hopes come true, and what role the personal meetings of leaders of major states will play in this process.
