On May 15, a wave of military aggression overwhelmed the region, claiming the life of one civilian woman and damaging infrastructure in several localities. According to Serhiy Lysak, head of the regional military administration, the attacks began in the morning and continued throughout the day. "In the first half of the day, the enemy intensified shelling of Nikopol and Synelnykove districts. The aggressor used drone strikes and artillery, targeting the cities of Nikopol, Pokrovsk, and the Marhanets community. As a result of the shelling, private houses and industrial enterprises were damaged. Unfortunately, there were human casualties: during one of the strikes mainly in Synelnykove district, a woman was killed. Further details are being clarified," the official reported. The exact locations where the shells fell and the extent of the destruction are currently being investigated by operational services. According to preliminary information, the shelling caused damage to private homes, and industrial facilities sustained damage that may lead to temporary shutdowns. Many civilians, including women, children, and the elderly, have been affected, leaving them homeless and in distress due to missile and drone attacks. The shellings that occurred the day before once again confirm the high level of danger in the Donbas and the massive destabilization of life in the region. Local authorities have called on residents to remain cautious, stay calm, and follow safety recommendations during and after missile strikes. Communities in the region have already begun comprehensive recovery work on damaged buildings and are providing assistance to those affected. However, the human tragedy caused by Russian shelling will never go unnoticed. Efforts are being made to ensure that information reaches all residents of the oblast, reminding them of the importance of staying calm and being prepared for any situation. Regional authorities and security forces are working around the clock to ensure the safety of the population and respond swiftly to any new challenges. At the same time, in appreciation of the resilience and courage of local residents, they urge people not to panic and to support one another during this difficult time.
