Russian military forces have once again launched an attack on the peaceful settlement of Nikopol and its surroundings, causing significant destruction and damage to infrastructure

As a result of the ongoing aggression by the occupiers using artillery and kamikaze drones, several residential neighborhoods, commercial facilities, and public infrastructure objects were affected. According to Sergey Lysak, head of the regional military administration, and Mykola Lukashuk, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, the attack occurred during late evening and early morning hours, and all damaged objects were affected by explosions and impacts. It is initially known that powerful volleys involving artillery and FPV drones were fired from the Russian occupiers on the territory of the Nikopol district. This resulted in serious consequences for the infrastructure, including damage to several multi-storey residential buildings, shops, a sports club, a swimming pool, a laboratory, as well as power transmission lines. According to official reports, there were no human casualties: fortunately, nobody among the local residents was hurt during the night and morning shelling. However, the destruction is evident: some shops, one sports facility, the swimming pool, and residential buildings were damaged. Additionally, electric supply was interrupted, and power lines were damaged due to the strikes. In his Telegram channel, Lysak noted that an inspection of the territory is ongoing, and the full extent of the destruction and damage is being assessed. He emphasized that despite the scale of the shelling, deaths were prevented as a result of missile and artillery strikes, but material damage remains quite significant. Mykola Lukashuk also shared details of yesterday’s attacks: according to him, in the morning, combat kamikaze drones attacked Nikopol and the Marhanets community, and later artillery was used as well. He stated that these strikes affected several commercial objects, residential buildings, and social infrastructure facilities, further confirming the criminal nature of the deliberate attacks carried out by the Russian side against peaceful residents. Local residents, who have endured this new wave of destruction, remain cautious and continue to work on assessing the damages, while also calling for increased security and defense measures in the region. Official authorities assure that all possible measures are being taken to prevent new attacks and to swiftly restore the damaged infrastructure. The authorities of Dnipropetrovsk region emphasize that the aggressor will not be able to intimidate the peaceful population or subdue them with fear—the region will continue to be under the protection of Ukraine’s defense forces.
