By the morning of May 14, in Kherson region, three civilians have been injured as a result of Russian attacks, which continue to mercilessly destroy the peaceful population of the area
Specifically, the occupiers used drones and mortar fire, causing a series of injuries among residents of Bilozerka, Kherson, and Beryslav. According to the Kherson Regional Military Administration, as of the morning, it is known that around 7 a.m., Russian troops conducted another drone attack on a civilian vehicle in Bilozerka. As a result, a 49-year-old man sustained a mine-explosive injury, a concussion, and numerous shrapnel wounds to his face, arms, torso, and thighs. Medical personnel promptly hospitalized the victim, and his condition remains critically stable but under medical control. Less than a few hours later, another injured person was delivered to medical facilities in Kherson — a 51-year-old woman from the Dniprovske district of the city. She sustained a mine-explosive injury and a fractured shin due to damage caused by a Russian drone. The injured woman underwent necessary examination and was provided with all available assistance to stabilize her condition. Another incident occurred in Beryslav, where a 68-year-old local resident stepped on a Russian anti-personnel mine of the "petal" type. The explosion occurred when the woman stumbled upon a mine in her yard or near her house, which had been left there after previous shelling. As a result of the detonation, she received severe shrapnel wounds and traumatic amputation of her foot. The victim was urgently transported to hospital, where she is receiving all necessary medical care. According to preliminary information, her condition is serious, and medical staff are doing everything possible to stabilize her and save her life. These incidents once again highlight the dangerous situation faced by residents of Kherson region due to the deliberate actions of Russian occupiers. They are actively using drones and mines, putting countless civilians' lives at risk every day. Authorities urge residents to be cautious and follow safety recommendations regarding mine hazards, especially in areas that have been shelled and may still be contaminated with mortar or explosive devices. Ukrainian security and rescue services continue working on detecting and disarming mines and explosive devices; however, this work is complicated by intensified military actions and Russia’s deployment of new terror tactics. Local residents are advised to be vigilant and report suspicious objects to prevent further tragedies in the region. Overall, the situation in Kherson region remains tense, with each day bringing new dangers and tragedies. Local authorities and volunteer organizations are working to provide assistance to the injured and strengthen safety measures, but trust in the possibility of peaceful life is gradually growing only with the stabilization of the situation and the withdrawal of Russian troops from the region.
