The mayor of Lozova expresses concern over the disappearance of his deputy during a business trip to the Czech Republic
The mayor of Lozova in Kharkiv region, Serhiy Zelensky, unexpectedly announced information regarding the disappearance of his deputy for the activities of executive bodies of the council, Oleksiy Korpaan. The incident occurred in early May during a business trip to the Czech Republic, and since then, the official has ceased to make contact. According to the official, he personally reported this situation through his Facebook page. Zelensky emphasized that during the trip, his deputy was engaged in issues related to cooperation with the Czech side and obtaining necessary medical equipment for primary healthcare in Lozova. However, on May 7, a few days after the start of the trip, communication with Korpaan was lost. The mayor notes that the last contacts with Oleksiy Korpaan were recorded on social media, after which he disappeared from the radar. Zelensky reported that, at this moment, the deputy is not answering phone calls or messages, and whether he was in the Czech Republic, outside the country, or became the victim of something negative remains unknown. The mayor hinted that the situation raises concerns, as many rumors are circulating around this story, including the rumor that Korpaan may have left the country and even supposedly "fled abroad," which raises serious suspicions. Zelensky emphasizes that all circumstances will be investigated by law enforcement agencies and, if necessary, the situation will be thoroughly examined. In a comment, he stressed that the situation is under control, and all actions by the city leadership and law enforcement will be carried out within the framework of current legislation. "If it turns out that my deputy actually betrayed our country or was involved in any unlawful activities, relevant authorities will take measures in accordance with the law. We aim to act transparently and within the legal field to clarify all circumstances of this situation," the Lozova mayor stated. Currently, the Lozova city authorities and law enforcement are actively investigating to determine what happened to Korpaan and whether he indeed disappeared to avoid responsibility or fell victim to criminal actions. The deputy has not yet officially commented on the situation, and his social media pages remain without updates. This story raises serious concerns among the residents of the city, as it involves a personnel figure responsible for important areas of the city council’s work. At the same time, local officials assure that all necessary measures are being taken to clarify the circumstances and ensure the safety of the city and its inhabitants.
