According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre, nearly the entire country will experience typical May rain with cool twilight conditions, while the Carpathians are forecasted to receive significant precipitation in the form of mixed snow and rain. As reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre, on May 14th, short-term rains are expected across all of Ukraine. Nighttime temperatures will range from 2 to 9 degrees Celsius, while daytime temperatures will be between 12 and 18 degrees above zero. Winds will blow from the west and southwest at speeds of 5-12 m/s. In Kyiv, light rain is predicted on Wednesday, with nighttime temperatures remaining between 4 and 6 degrees Celsius, while daytime temperatures will rise to around +16°C. In the following days, May 15–16, the situation will worsen in most western, northern, and central regions due to moderate rain. In the Carpathians on Thursday, significant rainfall—including considerable rain—will occur, and by Friday, the situation will become even more complex with wet snow, and temperatures will decrease again. For most of the country, it will stay cool, with nighttime temperatures from 2 to 9 degrees Celsius and daytime temperatures from 12 to 16 degrees. Meanwhile, a stronger wind from the west and southwest is forecasted during brief calm periods, with gusts reaching 15-20 m/s in some regions. In the western, Vinnytsia, and most northern areas, temperatures are expected to decrease, while in the south and east, temperatures will temporarily rise by 3-5 degrees. In Kyiv, rainy weather will persist on Wednesday and Thursday, with nighttime temperatures around 8–10°C and daytime temperatures reaching +14…+16°C. Winds, mainly from the southeast or south at 5-12 m/s, will add a feeling of chilliness. Therefore, residents of Kyiv and all Ukrainians should be prepared for rapid changes in weather — rain, strong wind, and low temperatures will quickly return to typical May conditions.
