Russian military forces once again violated the terms of the so-called “three-day ceasefire,” which Moscow announced just before Victory Day in World War II — and on the very first day after its implementation, they decided to demonstrate their combat capability in the Kupiansk direction

This news raises a number of questions regarding Kremlin’s true intentions and its ability to adhere to the announced agreements, as in fact, the occupiers have reactivated exactly where Ukrainian defenders were ready to meet them at the height of their strength. According to the Operational-Tactical Group "Kharkiv," which has reported on the situation at the front multiple times, on May 10, the occupiers attempted an assault operation within the responsibility zone of the 15th National Guard Brigade "Kara-Dag" — specifically in the Kupiansk direction. To achieve their goals, enemy detachments used surprise and unconventional means — in particular, motorcycles for quick movement toward Ukrainian positions, indicating their cohesion and desire to swiftly break through the defense. Determined to repel the attack, the defenders of "Kara-Dag" acted professionally and with high endurance. They employed their entire arsenal of firepower, including a barrage of infantry, artillery, and other weapons to counter the enemy. According to the operational command, this assault was successfully stopped, and the occupiers suffered significant losses in personnel and equipment. Motivating their actions, Ukrainian military leadership emphasizes that enemy attacks in the Kupiansk direction only confirm the falsehood of Moscow’s claims about a "ceasefire," which they consider a worthless sham and a gross illusion. Official reports state that during this shelling, at least ten Russian "hellish riders" — i.e., soldiers on motorcycles — were destroyed, along with nine of their two-wheeled vehicles. This once again demonstrates that Ukrainian defenders are ready to systematically oppose the enemy, destroying its most mobile units which pose the greatest threat. The background of this series of events is quite illustrative. On May 8, on the eve of Victory Day celebrations, Moscow announced a three-day "ceasefire," which was declared by international and Ukrainian authorities, as well as the global community, with suspicion and skepticism toward such steps. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Shevchenko stated that in the early hours of May 8, Russian troops continued shelling Ukrainian positions along the entire front line, sabotaging any attempts at a genuine cessation of hostilities. The Ukrainian General Staff also reported active combat activity by Russian forces, noting that since the beginning of the day, Russian troops conducted over 117 combat encounters, launching a wave of attacks across various front sectors. This indicates that, despite official statements and the so-called "ceasefire," the Russians have never ceased military operations; instead, they have intensified them, creating additional tension and raising concerns about further developments in the situation. This behavior from Moscow demonstrates its unwillingness to retreat or make concessions, despite the provocative nature of the "ceasefire," which more resembles a tactical psychological pressure and an attempt to buy time. Meanwhile, Ukrainian military forces continue to demonstrate resilience and the ability to respond swiftly to any threats, destroying enemy units and maintaining control over the situation on the front even in the most tense moments. This once again underscores that Ukrainian defense remains stronger, and any attempts by the enemy to create the illusion of a ceasefire are merely tactical tricks aimed at destabilization. Thus, the current situation shows that Moscow is once again attempting to cast doubt on its ability or willingness to fulfill agreements, using so-called "ceasefires" to regroup its forces, while Ukrainians repeatedly prove their capacity to defend the country and deliver a firm response to any foe. What will happen next remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: a ceasefire with Russia has long been nothing more than a myth, and recent events repeatedly emphasize the necessity of keeping combat readiness and never losing vigilance in this tough fight for Ukraine's independence and territorial integrity.
