According to the Ukrainian Air Forces command, the enemy sent as many as 108 unmanned aerial vehicles into our territory — among them were attack drones of the Shahed type and various decoys used to disorient air defense systems. This is yet another large-scale attack, confirming the increasing activity of Russian forces in the air and their attempts to weaken our defenses ahead of important events and strategic operations. The local air defense systems responded accordingly: Ukrainian units shot down 66 of the 108 attacking drones. Operational data as of 8:30 a.m. Kyiv time confirm the destruction of at least 55 Shahed attack drones, which were penetrating from various directions — from the east, north, south, and the center of the country. This indicates the scale and complexity of the operation conducted by the Russian command. At the same time, it is worth noting that not all drones were successful. According to official information, about 30 decoys and other drones were lost on the spot without causing serious consequences for the civilian population or infrastructure. This demonstrates confidence in the effectiveness of the protection systems and the ability to respond quickly to potential threats. Overall, as a result of this night’s attack, there have been damages and minor destruction in various regions of Ukraine. The affected areas include Odesa, Mykolaiv, Donetsk, and Zhytomyr regions. The damages are mostly infrastructural in nature, with no casualties among civilians. Ukrainian defense forces actively operated on all fronts: aircraft, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare (EW) units, as well as mobile strike groups from Ukrainian forces, contributed to repelling the attack and mitigating its consequences. This night attack once again underscores the relevance and complexity of the confrontation ongoing in Ukrainian skies, as well as highlights the need to strengthen defensive measures and reconnaissance systems. The enemy is not only investing military potential into their drones but also applying psychological pressure on the population and Ukrainian forces. Despite the numerical superiority of the enemy, the Ukrainian command and defenders demonstrate the ability to respond rapidly and effectively halt attacks, giving hope for further stability and security for the country.
