The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, led an exciting and meaningful walk through the central streets of Kyiv for French leader Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak

This walk became a symbolic demonstration of openness and friendly dialogue between the countries during challenging times and the assertion of Ukrainian independence. After the conclusion of the "Decisive Coalition" meeting, which was held in a special cooperation format between Kyiv and its international partners, Zelenskyy invited his guests to explore directly the history and modernity of Ukraine’s capital. The first stop was Mykhailivskyi Square, where the leaders, together with the President, laid flowers at the Wall of Memory, honoring the heroes who fell in the fight for Ukraine’s independence and integrity. This act served as a symbolic gesture of remembrance and gratitude to all Ukrainian soldiers who continue to defend their country. The next point of the route was an exhibition of destroyed Russian military equipment, which evokes pride while also reminding us of the cost of freedom. Subsequently, the leaders strolled along the central street to the St. Sophia’s Cathedral, one of the city’s most significant historical and spiritual landmarks. Throughout the tour, an experienced guide accompanied them, sharing insights into Kyiv’s multifaceted past and present, its architectural monuments, cultural traditions, and contemporary challenges. It is worth noting that an informal meeting took place at St. Sophia’s Cathedral, during which Zelenskyy and Sunak summarized the results of today’s diplomatic efforts. According to the Ukrainian president, they discussed the main directions for achieving peace and stability in the region. In particular, Zelenskyy shared: “We discussed the implementation of the agreement on a complete ceasefire starting from May 12, which is to last at least 30 days. We also talked about increasing sanctions against Russia in case there is no constructive response from its side. Special attention was paid to monitoring and controlling adherence to the ceasefire, cooperation with the United States, security guarantees for Ukraine, and further development of our defense capabilities.” Additionally, the head of Ukraine expressed gratitude to Rishi Sunak for her active participation in the joint work of the "Decisive Coalition" and for her efforts to enhance cooperation within this format. This underscores the importance of international support and the willingness of partners to collaborate in overcoming the challenges Ukraine faces in its fight for independence and security. Thus, this walk symbolizes not only the unity and support for Ukraine from its partners but also the Kyiv authorities’ and society’s dedication to demonstrating resilience and striving for peace, justice, and stability throughout the entire region.
