British Prime Minister Keir Starmer reported this, emphasizing that the decision was made unanimously by representatives of the participating countries, including the United Kingdom, the United States, the European Union, and other countries worldwide. According to Starmer, the agreement provides for maintaining the existing sanctions "until the process is complete," but he did not give specific definitions of what exactly should be considered the end of negotiations. The British Prime Minister highlighted the importance of unity in this policy, noting that "we have the USA, the EU, New Zealand, and a number of other countries speaking with one voice on this issue." This adds additional weight and strength to this joint position, underscoring global solidarity in restraining Moscow's aggression. The results of the summit were also reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He expressed deep gratitude to American leader Donald Trump for supporting the sanctions policy against Russia. Zelensky stated that Ukraine values the stability of sanctions and remains open to their strengthening if necessary. "I thank President Trump for maintaining the current sanctions, and I very much hope that they will be further reinforced," Zelensky said after the summit negotiations. Earlier, the international community focused on the potential for sharp measures by the West, including the EU and the US, if Russia refuses to accept the conditions for a ceasefire. Following the summit on May 10, the Coalition of the Determined decided to again insist on an unconditional and fully concrete ceasefire for 30 days starting from May 12. Russia’s refusal to meet these conditions by the end of the year could lead to significant tightening of sanctions measures, including new restrictions and blockades. Thus, the international community once again demonstrates its unwavering stance in supporting Ukraine and condemning Russia’s aggression, striving to prevent the lifting of sanctions that carry a crucial deterrent effect for Putin’s regime and potential further destabilization in the region.
