On May 10, an important international event will take place in Kyiv — the summit of the so-called “Coalition of the Determined” leaders
This was confirmed by French President Emmanuel Macron, who, during a press conference in the French city of Nancy on May 9, announced this event together with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. According to him, the meeting will be held in a hybrid format, with some participants attending in person and others online. Details of the arrangements remain uncertain for now, as the French leader is withholding specific comments regarding the format of participation. "I will go to Ukraine at the appropriate time and under very appropriate circumstances. For various reasons, this is usually not announced in advance," Macron was quoted by BFMTV. At the same time, he did not specify exactly how he would participate in the summit — personally or remotely, implying that the decision is still being made. This news has become anticipated, as several hours earlier Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced a planned "meeting" of the participants of the "Coalition of the Determined," but his message remained ambiguous regarding the details. Zelensky’s deputies did not specify whether the event would take place in a summit format or in a less formal setting. It is clear that the main reason for the heightened attention to this event is the international community’s desire to strengthen support for Ukraine in its confrontation with Russian aggression. It is noted that during the preparatory stage in Kyiv, traffic restrictions have already been implemented. This is related to the presence of foreign delegations and the holding of ceremonial and commemorative events, which underscores the significance of this event for the Ukrainian capital. Regarding the content of the "Coalition of the Determined," official plans mention ensuring international pressure to achieve peace. According to diplomats, the main goal is to send a joint mission to the conflict zone to guarantee a future ceasefire and ensure long-term stabilization of the situation. France, Britain, and other countries within this coalition insist on increasing diplomatic pressure and actively supporting Ukraine. Thus, May 10 will become one of the key dates in Ukraine’s diplomatic history this year. It is expected that during the summit, leaders will coordinate further steps to ensure the country’s security and sovereignty, as well as continue cooperation on peaceful conflict resolution. The summit in Kyiv demonstrates international solidarity and a commitment to diplomatic solutions to the crisis that has intensified due to Russian aggression.
