" This decision of the President of Ukraine was officially published on his official website as an edict, confirming recognition of his significant contribution to the defense of the state and the development of modern military technologies. According to the document, esteemed Ukrainian military personnel was bestowed the honorary title of Hero of Ukraine along with the Order of the "Golden Star." This is one of the most prestigious awards in the national award system, awarded annually to citizens distinguished by heroic deeds in defense of Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity. Robert Yosypovych Brovda was born on August 9, 1975, in Uzhgorod. Prior to the extensive war with Russia, he was a businessman actively engaged in grain trading, with a reputation as an experienced entrepreneur. However, with the onset of large-scale aggression, his life and activities changed dramatically. On the battlefield, he became one of the main initiators in creating the "Flocks of Madyar" strike drone unit, which quickly gained popularity and authority within the Ukrainian military community. Over the course of several years, this unit underwent significant evolution. It initially started as a small company operating in 2022. Thanks to Brovda’s efforts and his team, some of the UAVs evolved from a small company into a formed brigade within just two years – by 2024. This exemplifies the high efficiency and organization of the unit, as well as technological improvements in Ukrainian defense. In February 2025, Ukraine’s Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov announced the launch of the strategic project "Drone Line" – a system of mobile drone batteries designed to counter the enemy on various levels of the front. As part of this large-scale plan, the "Madyar" brigade was established, becoming one of the key elements of the defense initiative. Under Brovda’s leadership, this brigade demonstrates a high level of training and technical equipment, capable of effectively resisting the Russian offensive and halting the enemy’s advances. It is worth noting that Zelensky’s decision to award Robert Brovda and his unit serves as an important signal to all Ukrainians and military personnel: state support and recognition of the efforts of volunteers and soldiers participating in the country’s defense remain priorities in Ukraine’s policy. Modern warfare demands not only heroism but also advanced technology, innovative approaches, and team coordination. Additionally, within the framework of broad defense reforms and the promotion of cutting-edge military developments, Ukraine has actively launched projects aimed at modernizing the army through unmanned systems. This particularly includes the "Drone Line," which aims to become a key component of the country’s future defense strategy. It is designed not only to strengthen the positions of Ukrainian troops but also to enhance mobility and autonomy in fighting the enemy, which is especially relevant in current front-line conditions. Overall, awarding Robert Brovda the "Gold Star" Order and granting him the title of Hero of Ukraine is not only a recognition of an individual’s personal contribution but also a significant symbol of the progress of Ukraine’s defense system. It demonstrates the country’s ability to swiftly adapt to new challenges and to employ the most advanced technologies. This act also inspires other defenders and volunteers to actively participate in building the nation’s defense capacity and to pursue innovation leading to victory.
