The number of victims of the Russian strike on a bus in Marganets has significantly increased: it is now officially known that ten people have died
Last weekend, on April 23rd, an enemy drone caused a terrible tragedy in Dnipropetrovsk region, resulting in many people suffering serious injuries, and unfortunately, some of them did not survive. According to the latest information received from Serhiy Lysak, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, among the victims who died in hospitals is a 59-year-old man who was wounded during the attack and was in critical condition. His death has become the last, sixth in the official list of confirmed fatalities since the tragedy occurred. This again highlights the scale of the consequences of that destructive attack. In his Telegram channel, the regional head emphasized: "A 59-year-old man, who was wounded during the enemy strike on a bus in Marganets on April 23rd, has died in the hospital." Thus, the total number of people who have perished in this terrible event now stands at ten. The backstory of this tragedy is quite dramatic. On that day, around noon, Russian drones carried out a targeted strike on passenger transport in the center of Marganets. This was one of the largest shelling incidents in recent times, during which a moving bus was hit while traveling through the city. Initial reports spoke of nine dead and over fifty injured. At that time, the situation seemed uncontrollable—people panicked and sought help, while the injured needed immediate medical response. Later, several days afterward, the situation worsened when medics recorded that one of the wounded men, who was brought to the hospital with severe injuries, unexpectedly died in the ICU. This is the fifth official death related to this attack, and now the overall death toll has reached ten. It should be noted that this attack was one of the most brutal on this section of the front line in recent months. It caused widespread public resonance and once again underscored the seriousness and ongoing nature of Russian shellings, which destroy the lives of thousands of Ukrainians and leave a deep mark on the memory of the population. Residents of Marganets and the entire region continue to pray for the health of the wounded and believe in a faster recovery of the situation. Local authorities call for increased security measures and mobilization of forces to prevent similar tragedies in the future, and emphasize the importance of strengthening Ukraine’s defense capacity. At the same time, the international community condemns this act of terror and expresses support for the Ukrainian people in their fight against Russian aggression. The tragedy in Marganets once again highlights the need to strengthen sanctions and pursue further diplomatic efforts to end military actions and restore peace in the region.
