According to the Donetsk prosecutor’s office, at least 12 civilians were injured in the night strike that occurred around 22:50 on May 7, and there are reports of one woman who is likely trapped under the debris of the building. According to prosecutors, Russian forces used an "FAB-250" type air bomb equipped with a UMPK module for the attack, indicating a high-precision strike. The explosive device was aimed specifically at a multi-apartment residential complex in the city center, which was severely damaged. As a result of the shelling, four civilians suffered serious injuries — men aged 46, 47, and 74, as well as a 47-year-old woman. They sustained mine-explosive injuries, shrapnel wounds, bruises, and hypothermia. Additionally, eight other residents aged between 41 and 75 received minor injuries. Rescue services promptly arrived at the scene to stabilize the situation. They cleared the debris and provided medical assistance to the victims on-site. Preliminary information indicates that another city resident is likely trapped under the rubble. Her fate is currently being determined, but the significant destruction of the building complicates rescues. Beyond residential buildings, the strike caused extensive damage to local infrastructure. Three multi-apartment residential complexes and a supermarket were heavily damaged, adding to the tension among the local population, which is already experiencing the consequences of ongoing hostilities. The new tragedy was caused by actions of Russian forces who continue relentless attacks on residential neighborhoods in Kostiantynivka, ruthlessly destroying homes and endangering civilians. Local authorities and emergency services are working intensively on evacuating people from the affected zone and providing necessary assistance to the wounded. At the same time, the city council calls for international attention and condemns these further war crimes that shed new blood and destroy the peaceful lives of residents. This is yet another example of how war mercilessly worsens civilian lives, destroying their homes and hearts. The international community once again urges an immediate ceasefire and the search for a diplomatic solution to the conflict, which would end the suffering of peaceful residents of Donetsk region and all of Ukraine.
