Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian defense forces have demonstrated significant pressure on the enemy, which is especially important in the context of the ongoing struggle for the country’s independence and territorial integrity

According to information published by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, in the last 24 hours, Ukrainian defenders destroyed at least 1,200 Russian occupiers and also destroyed or damaged over 300 units of enemy military equipment of various types. These losses indicate the effectiveness of the Ukrainian army's countermeasures and a high level of resistance against the aggressor. As of May 8, 2025, the estimated cumulative losses of Russian forces since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, are approximately as follows: about 962,000 personnel, 10,782 tanks, over 22,429 armored combat vehicles, 27,552 artillery systems, 1,379 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,156 air defense systems, 35,407 operational-tactical UAVs, as well as around 47,604 units of automotive equipment and fuel tanks, and 3,875 units of specialized equipment. It is worth noting that these data are being clarified and may be updated or corrected over time, as active fighting and information gathering continue. The overall combat losses of the Russians since the beginning of the war testify to the scale and duration of the conflict. Last month, Ukrainian forces marked significant progress on the front, including the destruction of additional enemy units and equipment. This serves as evidence that even under the most challenging conditions, Ukrainian defenders maintain combat spirit and effectively repel intense enemy attacks. The threat from Russian occupiers remains high, but every day Ukrainian military personnel demonstrate their ability to fight fiercely, leverage their advantages, and inflict substantial losses on the enemy. It is also crucial to maintain national unity in resistance, as every enemy loss brings Ukraine closer to victory and the restoration of an independent and whole country. Given these figures and current events, it is clear that the Ukrainian army continues to demonstrate high professionalism and resilience, holding the front lines under difficult conditions and learning new tactics and strategies in the fight against the aggressor. At the same time, international support remains key to strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities and accelerating the process toward full victory.
