In Kostiantynivka, rescue workers and law enforcement officers quickly and bravely tried to save the lives of people during the worst attack by Russian troops on a multi-story building
This happened on May 7th, around 10:50 p.m., when a "FAB-250" type bomb struck from the sky, destroying a nine-story residential building in the city center. As a result of this devastating blast, 13 civilians were injured, some of whom remain under the rubble, including one woman whose search is still underway. After the strike, the situation turned into a true tragedy — part of the building completely collapsed, with the most affected area being the ground floor and the entrance from the ninth to the second floor. Paramedic teams and law enforcement officers were the first to arrive at the scene, immediately beginning rescue operations. Video footage released by the National Police press service shows the first minutes after the attack, when police officers and medics literally freed the injured from under the debris. The police involved in the operation spared no effort and dismantled obstructions to extract the victims. Elderly men and women who ended up on the upper floors were lowered down using collapsible ladders and ropes, with maximum caution to avoid worsening their condition. Paramedics and police officers worked in coordination and quickly transferred the wounded to ambulances, which were already waiting near the ruins. At the same time, an investigative and explosive detection team was working on the scene to study the area, particularly to prevent further shelling and assess the extent of the destruction. It is noted that the rescue operation is still ongoing, and each stage is carried out with great responsibility, as the lives of people and their ongoing safety depend on the speed and professionalism of the rescuers and law enforcement. Such heroic work reminds us of the brutality of war and the courage of those who risk their lives to save others in the most difficult conditions.
