This wave of intense fighting confirms the ongoing large-scale aggression that has been continuing in the region for several months. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, five civilians were affected as a result of the new Russian strikes. Initially, areas of Rodyne, Oleksiivka-Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka, Dобропілля, and Sloviansk suffered from explosions and destruction, where large fires and damages recurred. It is reported that dozens of buildings—residential homes, garages, administrative facilities, enterprises, and even a religious building—were damaged and destroyed as a result of artillery and air strikes. The fires covered over 500 square meters of area, the service reports. The escalation of the situation has directly impacted the lives of local residents. In Rodyne, five private houses were affected: one fire was extinguished over an area of 188 square meters, but the damage remained significant. A garage and two outbuildings that were part of private households also burned down. In Oleksiivka-Druzhkivka, three private buildings, totaling about 300 square meters, caught fire as a result of shelling. The firefighting efforts were complicated by repeated shelling, which forced rescuers to temporarily stop work. In Kostiantynivka, the consequences were even more severe: a whole building of a local enterprise was burned down due to an air strike. Three people were injured, 28 private houses were damaged, and the administrative building and three industrial facilities were looted. Firefighting was delayed due to ongoing shelling—emergency services had to halt operations several times for safety reasons. The destruction also affected the spiritual sphere: during a shelling in Dobropillia, a local church building caught fire, and a fire of 20 square meters was extinguished. At the same time, in Sloviansk, a waste disposal site on an unused enterprise territory caught fire due to shelling. The fire was quickly extinguished, but it became yet another vivid reminder of the destructive consequences of military aggression in the region. Overall, the situation in Donetsk remains tense. Local services have become accustomed to constant shelling and fire safety challenges, but human losses and destruction continue to seriously affect residents’ lives. Ukrainian rescuers and military personnel work around the clock to stabilize the situation and protect the region from further attacks. However, the obvious fact remains — the war continues, destroying everything around and leaving behind broken lives and abandoned ruins where houses and churches once stood.
