Russian occupiers took the lives of four civilians in Donetsk region over the past day and wounded ten more

This information was reported by the head of the regional military administration, Vadym Filaškin, who published this update on his Telegram channel, emphasizing the scale of the tragedy ongoing in the region since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine began. According to him, on May 6 alone, Russian forces carried out a series of attacks that resulted in the deaths and injuries of civilians in several settlements in Donetsk region. In total, as a result of enemy shelling over the past 24 hours, residents of Kramatorsk, Poltavka, Yablunivka, and Sofiivka were affected. In Kramatorsk, one of the largest and strategically important cities in the region, tension remained high: the enemy struck again, causing one death and injuring two others. Unfortunately, these are only some of the tragic consequences of the war, which has been ongoing for over a year and brings human losses almost daily. Overall civilian casualties in Donetsk region since the full-scale aggression began have approached 11,000. According to official figures, at least 3,196 civilians have been killed, and over 7,065 have been wounded of varying severity. It is important to note that these numbers do not include victims in the territories occupied or in hostilities in Mariupol and Volnovakha, where human losses and destruction remain even more extensive. The background of the events on May 6 provides additional insight into the situation on the frontlines in the region. In the morning, Russian troops shelled Kramatorsk seven times in a row, causing destruction and panic among the local population. As a result of these attacks, one person died, and two others with injuries of varying severity were hospitalized. These events once again confirm that Donetsk remains one of the hottest frontline sectors in Ukraine, where each day brings new losses and destruction. Ukraine and its communities remain in a state of constant tension and struggle for independence and security. Local authorities call on residents to stay cautious, follow safety rules, and remember the ongoing danger posed by active hostilities of Russian forces. The tragedy of Donetsk has become yet another stark illustration of how war has taken numerous lives and shattered lives, reminding us of the need for comprehensive support and continuous efforts to restore peace and stability in Ukraine.
