In Ukraine, the beginning of the week is expected to bring adverse weather conditions: rain, nighttime frosts, and snow in the high-altitude regions of the Carpathians

According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, in the coming days, an atmospheric front will cause a significant change in climate conditions across almost the entire country. This means that Ukrainians should be prepared for considerable weather fluctuations: prolonged rains, frosts, and even wet snow in the mountainous areas. According to the official forecast, on May 8th, brief showers will occur in the Carpathians and the southeastern parts of the country, with possible wet snow at night and in some regions. The rest of Ukraine will largely remain dry; however, nighttime temperatures will range from 5 to 11 degrees Celsius, marked as "warm," while daytime temperatures will be between 14 and 20 degrees. In the northern and western regions, ground frosts are possible, with temperatures dropping to -3 degrees in some areas, which could negatively affect agricultural crops. Winds across Ukraine will blow from the east and northeast at speeds of 5-10 m/s. Kyiv will remain free from significant precipitation that day: nighttime temperatures are expected to be between 4 and 6 degrees Celsius, with daytime temperatures rising up to +14°C. The wind will blow from the north at moderate strength. Such weather adds a certain coolness and humidity characteristic of May. On May 9th, the situation will change somewhat: in the evening and at night, rain may occur in southwestern regions, as well as in Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, and parts of Kyiv regions. During the day, most of Ukraine is expected to experience precipitation, except for the western regions where the rainy mood will be weaker or absent. Nighttime temperatures will fluctuate from 2 to 9 degrees Celsius, with possible ground frosts up to -5°C in northern and western areas. During the daytime, it will warm up to around 14°C, and in the southeastern parts of the country, temperatures may rise to 18°C. The Carpathians will again experience a drop in temperature: snow and rain are forecasted in the highlands. Night temperatures there will be cold, dropping to -0.5°C, while daytime temperatures will only rise to about 6°C, creating additional dangers for tourists and residents of the mountain region. During the first weekend of the week, on May 10th, weather conditions will remain variable. Nighttime conditions in Kyiv and other northern and western regions are expected to be dry with temperatures between 4 and 6 degrees Celsius, but localized light rain may occur again during the day. Winds will continue to blow from the northwest at 5-10 m/s, adding to the coolness until more stable weather arrives. Overall, meteorological conditions over the coming days are expected to be changeable and unpredictable. Ukrainians are advised to prepare in advance for unpredictable weather: bring an umbrella, warm clothing, and residents of high-altitude areas should not forget extra protection against wet snow and frosts. The passing of cyclones and atmospheric fronts will remain a relevant scenario for some time, posing challenges to comfort and safety. Meanwhile, meteorologists warn to be especially careful during walks and agricultural work, as sudden weather changes can lead to undesirable situations.
