According to the Ukrainian Air Force Command's press service, this aircraft successfully responded during a nighttime enemy attack aimed at Ukrainian defense systems. The source reports that out of the five AIM-9 missiles mounted on the aircraft, only one remains — confirming a high level of precision and successful firing. The other four targets were destroyed, which was evident from the military’s enthusiastic message: "Morning of May 6, 2025. 'Shahids' hunters are returning home… Under the wings of this F-16, only one missile remains. That means all five AIM-9s reached their targets! Thanks to Ukrainian pilots for the result and saving lives!" This example further confirms the high combat readiness and modern equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The interception of aerial reconnaissance and enemy strikes results from the coordinated efforts of aviation units, anti-aircraft missile systems, electronic warfare means, and mobile defense fire groups. According to the Air Force, by the end of May 5, the Ukrainian sky was under fire from Russian kamikaze drones: a total of 136 attacks from strike UAVs and imitation platforms were recorded. 54 of them were destroyed, while 70 others were localized and their threat was eliminated on site or they were shot down during engagement. These results demonstrate the high efficiency of air defense systems and the Ukrainian military’s ability to quickly respond to new challenges.
