Russia has again subjected Kherson Region to artillery shelling, resulting in the death of a peaceful resident

This happened on May 6 in the settlement of Komishani, located in the south of the region, according to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, in his official Telegram channel. The official states that the exact time of the strike was around 11:00 a.m. and it was caused by numerous enemy artillery volleys. "At around 11 o'clock in the morning, the enemy again used heavy weapons, launching a massive artillery attack on the settlement of Komishani. As a result, a 55-year-old woman received fatal injuries," Prokudin notes. It is known that the woman, who was near her home at the time of the attack, died on the spot, and her relatives and the local residents painfully received the news of the loss. The head of the region's military administration expressed his condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased, condemning this ruthless attack, which once again confirms that the civilian population remains under constant threat due to Russian aggression. Since the start of the war, there have been not only loss of life but also extensive destruction of residential buildings and infrastructure across the region. According to the Kherson Regional Military Administration, another large-scale enemy terror was recorded over the past day. More than thirty settlements, including the regional center — the city of Kherson — were affected by enemy drone, artillery, and airstrikes. The enemy forces deliberately aimed to destroy social infrastructure and the housing stock of local residents. In particular, damage was recorded to two apartment buildings and nine private residential structures, as a consequence of missile and artillery attacks. Additionally, the enemy damaged mobile cellular towers, gas pipelines, warehouses, and private vehicles. As a result of these attacks, one person died in the region over the past day, and three others were injured of varying severity. Overall, Russian forces continue to be merciless in their actions against the peaceful residents of Kherson Region, deliberately destroying civilian infrastructure and spreading fear and destruction. These shellings once again prove that the occupiers show no mercy — neither to adults nor children, residential buildings, nor critical social facilities. The local population remains on the brink of survival, and authorities call on the international community to intensify aid, highlight the extent of the destruction, and prevent new tragedies.
