New data has appeared in Zhytomyr regarding a leak of confidential information from the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TRSC)

A video recording of an official meeting, in which issues related to mobilization are discussed, is actively circulating online. This situation has already received widespread coverage, provoking intense discussions among the public and official representatives. A notable point is that the video recording was made publicly accessible directly from official sources, namely through the Zhytomyr TRSC's Facebook page. The center's representatives immediately responded to the situation, labeling it a "hacker attack" and assuring that they have done everything possible to ensure the security of their information systems, acting within the framework of Ukrainian law. They emphasized that the publication of this video is a deliberate cyberattack aimed at discrediting the center's activities and destabilizing the mobilization process. Zhytomyr TRSC officially stated that the perpetrators used cyber activity to achieve their goals: the hacker attack resulted in the hacking of the system, and a recording of the meeting, where issues regarding mobilization tasks are discussed, appeared online. The document reveals internal processes within the center and shows how they plan to reach a 60% mobilization level. The video clearly outlines the objectives—for example, actively searching for men registered with weapons, as well as those born in 2008 who are subject to conscription. The video also addresses the involvement of students who are studying and do not have official deferrals or are already liable for expulsion. During the meeting, officers provided specific recommendations for identifying potential reserve soldiers and mobilization methods, including approaches related to the public notification system. Participants were advised to identify potential mobilized individuals among active firearm owners, with an added note that particular attention should be paid to citizens with confirmed status based on registration data and existing deferrals. The Zhytomyr Military-Civilian Center, in its official commentary, emphasized that the actions of the malicious actors are deliberate and aimed at sowing doubts about the legality of the center’s operations, as well as undermining its authority in society. They stressed: “The perpetrators are employing not only cyberattacks but also information manipulation to create chaos and destabilize the situation around mobilization processes.” The representatives assured that all actions are being conducted in accordance with legislation, and all services are working to restore cyber security and protect systems from further attacks. According to the leadership of the TRSC, the compromised system has already been taken under control jointly with cybersecurity specialists, and an investigation into the incident is underway. It is noted that responsible companies and law enforcement agencies have already taken all necessary measures to eliminate the consequences of the cyberattack and prevent similar situations in the future. Overall, this incident is yet another reminder of how important it is today to ensure the security of government and military information systems, especially in times of constant external and internal challenges. The public and officials are calling for vigilance in verifying information, as interference in internal processes can adversely affect morale and public trust in Ukraine’s defense system. While an official review is ongoing, authorities are urging the public to stay calm and not panic, emphasizing that the activities of the territorial recruitment centers are fully compliant with the country's legal acts. At the same time, cybersecurity experts stress the importance of strengthening the protection of information systems and taking all necessary measures to prevent further attacks by malicious actors.
