On the night of May 6, Kharkiv was once again targeted by Russian unmanned aerial vehicles. According to local authorities and witnesses, the city was under alarm for several hours due to a massive kamikaze drone attack directed at infrastructure and residential objects. Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that there were at least four hits in different districts of Kharkiv, including industrial and residential areas. “We are recording three hits in the Industrial District and one in Kholodnogirsky District. Currently, this information is being clarified, but missile shelling has already taken place,” the city mayor stated in his daily comments. According to him, the alarm continues, and drone flights are still being observed over the city, creating additional tension among residents. Later, Terekhov posted in his Telegram channel about new explosions in the Shevchenkivskyi and Kyivskyi districts, located in the center and northern part of the city, respectively. This indicates the scale of the attack and its targeted nature toward vital city infrastructure. Background of the situation – the night of May 6 in Kharkiv once again marked by the strike of a Russian kamikaze drone “Shahed.” Preliminary reports indicate that this drone hit one of the densely populated districts of the city, causing a large fire in a private residential building. Information about the consequences of this attack confirms the seriousness of the situation and highlights the growing danger for Kharkiv residents. Local inhabitants, gathering after alarming reports, speak of feelings of unease, as such a level of massive shelling repeatedly heightens fears of future strikes. In Sofiivka, Kholodnogirsky, and other districts of the city, sirens and explosions are heard once again, forcing residents to quickly seek shelter. This is already the second attack within the last 24 hours. The night before, Kharkiv was also shelled by Russian drones, confirming a trend of increased aggression in the Kharkiv direction. Local authorities urge residents to remain calm and follow safety instructions, as the situation remains tense and unpredictable. Russian forces, apparently, are conducting active tactical operations, using drones to sabotage infrastructure and destabilize city life. However, Ukrainian defenders and security services promise to do their utmost to detect and destroy enemy drones, and residents of Kharkiv hope for a swift end to these attacks and the restoration of peaceful conditions in the city.
