In Sumy Region, another resident injured during a Russian shelling has died in the hospital, marking yet another tragic consequence of enemy attacks in the area

This is the third death officially confirmed as a result of an attack within a few days by Ihor Kalchenko, Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, who reported this sad event on his Telegram channel. According to the regional leader, the incident occurred on May 5 during a Russian shelling of the Bilopillia community, which resulted in the injury of one local resident. The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but unfortunately, his life could not be saved. He died in the medical facility from his wounds a few hours later. The deceased was only 34 years old, and this case once again emphasizes the terrible toll of war on civilians. "Regrettably, a civilian who was wounded yesterday as a result of enemy shelling in the Bilopillia community has died in the hospital," Ihor Kalchenko reported, adding that this tragedy has become another painful testament to the devastating consequences of Russia’s aggression on Ukrainian land. This news adds to the overall picture of the tragedy caused by the war, highlighting that since the beginning of May, three more civilians have been killed or seriously injured due to Russian attacks on the region. Specifically, on May 5, the enemy launched strikes on the Bilopillia and Vovchansk communities. These targeted attacks involved various types of weapons, including artillery shells and missile strikes, resulting in extensive destruction and human tragedies. Two days earlier, reports confirmed the death of three civilians who fell victim to this ongoing Russian aggression. These events once again underscore the ruthless nature of the conflict and the danger it poses to civilian lives caught in the crossfire. The authorities of Sumy region and all those fighting for safety and truth call on the community to remain as cautious as possible and to unite in the fight against terror. At the same time, Ukrainian and international organizations urge to end the violence and do everything possible to quickly restore peace to these lands, which have suffered so much during the war. This tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the need to strengthen defensive measures, support the families of the deceased and the wounded, and uphold the importance of unity and perseverance in the fight for Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity.
