This joyful event took place on a special day for Ukrainian soldiers and their families — Independence Day, a symbolic holiday for the entire army and all who fight daily for the independence and sovereignty of the state. According to information provided by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy through his official Telegram channel, the return of Ukrainian defenders is not merely another diplomatic victory but also an important symbol of the resilience and humanity of the Ukrainian people. Zelenskyy emphasized that among those released are young lads as well as experienced men who have endured the harshest tests. They represent nearly all branches of the armed forces, from infantry to military specialists, fighting on the most critical fronts. Special attention was given to the defenders of Mariupol — a city that has become a symbol of Ukrainian resistance — and soldiers fighting along the entire front line. They desperately held the defense despite terrible circumstances, sometimes being in Russian prisons. It is also reported that enemy special services scattered the defenders across many regions of Russia, aiming to isolate and break their will. They were kept in detention systems resembling concentration camps — with brutal conditions, mistreatment, and efforts to destroy human dignity, human face, and humanity. The head of state emphasizes that the return of these military personnel is not only a physical reintegration but also a significant moral victory for the Ukrainian people. It is a vivid example that, despite difficulties and trials, Ukraine will always be able to bring its heroes back, and humanity and the fight for justice will remain unbreakable values. This success serves as yet another reminder of the cost of war, but also of the importance of unity, will, and resilience of Ukrainians in their fight for their land and human dignity. The return of the soldiers is evidence that a mechanism for protecting and safeguarding its citizens operates in Ukraine even in the most challenging circumstances. They have reunited with their loved ones to restore strength and continue the fight for freedom and independence.
